Akis Tsolis

Akis Tsolis is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ActiveMedia Group. He has been involved in Sports Tourism since 2008 and has a rich experience since 2000 in the fields of Communications, Sponsorship, Sports Production & Sports Management. His first involvement with World Championships was just before the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996.

In the field of Sports Production, has organized two Greek All Star Games in basketball, participated as outsource partner in two more and in three FIBA All Star Games while he successfully ran the sports marketing departments of 12 basketball clubs with significant sponsorships like the one of Turkish Airlines in Maroussi BC (F16 Euroleague).

He has contributed to the design and implementation of successful projects in Sports Tourism such as Navarino Challenge (Best Sports Tourism Event in WTM London), Santorini Experience (Ermis Gold in Production), Authentic Marathon Swim (Nominee for Best Swim Event in the world).

His agency has undertaken the communication of sports brands such as The North Face, Reef, La Sportiva, Buff but also of events such as Zagori Mountain Running, Olympic Day Run Greece, Patmos Revelation, The North Face Kalymnos Climbing Festival, XTERRA GREECE etc. In the field of Golf, ActiveMedia Group is leading almost for a decade from the Hellenic-Turkish Golf Tournament in 2012, to golf tournaments like Messinia Pro-Am, Greek Maritime Golf Event, Glyfada Maritime Golf Event etc.

Managed to lead to the top of the Tourism Awards the first Greek Sports Tourism Event, Navarino Challenge in the most difficult tourism competition, the World Travel & Tourism Awards (WTM), as Best Wellness Event in Europe and 2nd best in the World in 2019. While in Greece won the Grand Ermis in Production (2015).

The newly formed Sports Presentation department undertook the corresponding service of the Mediterranean Beach Games with great success.

ActiveMedia Group was Sports Marketing Agency of the Year in 2019, 2020, 2023, 2024 and had 21 awards in 2021 for 21 clients. At the same time had several awards in Tourism Awards, Digital Media Awards, Travel & Hospitality Awards, Event Awards, Digi.Travel, EMEA Awards and more.

Within 11 years, the company had over 100 awards in all the sectors it was involved. He has worked with leading companies in many fields, such as in Gaming with Microsoft (Xbox), in entertainment with FOX & National Geographic, Betting Companies (Bet-at-home, Betshop, Expekt, Betfair, Betsson etc.) but also in the airline industry with Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines and Ryanair.

ActiveMedia Group also excels in Communication Services. It is the PR agency of XBOX for Microsoft Greece since 2020, has won the Best PR Practice Award as the PR agency of Turkish Airlines at the PR EMEA Awards 2012 and worked in the Launch Events of Qatar Airways in Thessaloniki, Mykonos and Santorini as well of Turkish Airlines in Thessaloniki.
